The next skiing champion!

Dalton had ski lessons today. He has them for 4 weeks. He is doing so good. He went up to the next level hill. It is longer & has lots of bumps on it. He was going over the bumps like a champ. He was the only kid that went over the bumps & did not fall. He is also stopping great. His teacher Matt is taking him up to Preview next week. I has a chair lift & it very high up for this little guy. I know he will do great! I am so excited that is learning at such an early age so he will not be scared & have such a hard time at skiing. I am sure he will want to snowboard when he gets older. It is all the rage up here. Even I am going to take ski lessons.

Cowboy Downhill!

Today on the mountain was the Cowboy Downhill. I did not get to see it because I was working but Darrel & Dalton had a great time. They had a petting zoo & band. Dalton had to be put on Darrel's shoulders & stand in front of the stage. He waved his hands like a true concert goer! What a fund day!

Another Monday!

I worked up at the top of the mountain at the store called the Top Shop. Love my ride to work. It is the Gondola! Dalton went to school. He is bringing home homework now! He has to practice tracing.

Work Work Work & more Work!

I have been working all week. Ahhhhh I did not realize how much I missed it. HaHa. No really it is fun to get to talk to all the tourists. Everyone has been so nice. There is a small parking lot at the lower level that is closer to the Gondola Square area where I work. So I parked in a correct spot. When I came out to leave at 1pm from work there is a big red truck blocking me in along with blocking the sidewalk. What a dork (or other choice words I had for him). I had to call security because I could not get out. They came & put a boot on the truck. Bad news for him. I had to have Darrel come out to get me. Then someone next to him moved that was next to him. Darrel had to drive around the front of him thru lots of snow. I was worried about my new car. It came out OK! The dumb person as to pay $100 dollars to get the boot off. As it should be. I get tired of people doing rude things. Finally got home about 1 hour after I was suppose too! I have to work tomorrow at the top of the mountain. I get to take the Gondola up to work. Great commute!!

Fun with Dad

Dalton & daddy had a great time today playing by themselves at home. Mom had to work. I am glad they have so much fun. Trains trains & more trains!!!

Night with a new friend!

Dalton had one of his friends over tonight for fun. They had a great time playing with trains. His mom & I just had dinner & wine. What a nice evening!

PJ day at school!!

Today was PJ day at school. I think that is so fun to get to spend the day in PJ's. They got to watch a movie too! Glad he is loving the school!

Ski school today!

Today was Dalton's second day at ski school. Boy does he love it! His teacher Matt said he was doing so good that they were heading up the mountain next week. He is stopping better & controlling his skis. I can't wait to ski with him. He has to be able to get on the lift & control stopping well. We will see next week how it goes. Can't wait!!!!

School for Dalton!

Dalton had school today & I had a day off!! I was excited to get him from school. Got him early today. I miss him lots when I am at work. He had a great time as usual at school.

Sweet Boy!!

I got to Dalton's school to pick him up today & the first thing the teacher told me was what Dalton said! Dalton told her that "He tells his mommy she is cute all the time!" I thought that was so cute. Then he said by Ms. Janie & blew her a kiss! He is so sweet! I hope that lasts forever! I worked today all by myself. It went smoothly. Wednesday is my offical first day alone. I am enjoying a job that you don't have to think. You can just be friendly & talk to people!!

Anniversary Today!

Today is Darrel & My 18th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe it has been so long. We now have a wonderful Son! He is the light of our life!!! We are going to have a nice family day!

Sledding!

Dalton had a great day sledding today! Our friend here named Suzie has a house on 35 acres & it has a big hill. Dalton got to sled & had a wonderful time! He also played with her son Ryan. Who is a few years older. He loves Dalton & thinks of him as a little brother. Of course Dalton looks up to him & wants to do what he does.

1st Day at work!

Today was my first day at work. I had a great time. It is a fun place to work. Because it is a resort town everyone is happy to be here! What a change! I have to work tomorrow & Monday then they put me on my own. In the retail shops you usually work alone. Because they are not huge shops. Dalton missed me allot today. He kept telling me how much he loved me when I got home. You could tell he missed me. Made my heart happy that he missed me so much!

School today!

Dalton had school today & had a great time! I got there & he had his pants on backwards. I thought it was so funny! They are having them do all there bathroom needs by themselves. How funny was that! Also today he said to me "How long is this snow thing going to last?" Again FUNNY! I said about 4 to 5 more months. My little guy is so cute! Tomorrow I start my new job. Don't know if I am ready for this! What did I get myself into!!

First day of ski school!

Dalton had a wonderful day today at ski school! He goes from 10am to 3pm! They have him skiing down the bunny slope. He is doing great! The instructor said he is listening well & doing great for his age.

SNOW SNOW SNOW!

I guess when we visited the past 20 or so years I never really noticed how much snow there really is! I guess it is different living in it then visiting. I am adapting well. I have learned to drive in it, walk in it & sit in it! The sit in it is when you hit an ice patch you sit in it! I have to fill out my employee papers tomorrow & get our ski passes! I am so excited about that. What a blessing! I am excited because I get to work at 3 different retail spots. One of them is at the top of the mountain! I get to take the Gondola to work! What a great ride!! Dalton starts his ski school tomorrow! He is going from 10am to 3pm. He goes for the next 5 weeks. I hope he learns allot!

A Winner!!!

I am so excited because I am taking home $400 dollars from the casino today! We stopped by the outlet mall in Dillon on the way home. Wow that was great because we have NO shopping in Steamboat! (minus Walmart) I just don't want all my outfits to be Walmart ones! So shopping was great today! Dalton had school today. The teacher who he just loves name is Ms. Janie! She said Dalton is putting his ski pants & coat on by himself now. My boy is growing up! They get to go out & play in the snow most everyday at school. He loves it!

Going to have some fun!

My mom & I are going to Blackhawk & Dillon today! We look forward to having a great time. We are spending the night. A little mom time x's 2! I am starting my new job on Friday & want to have fun before that begins! Papa bought a sled for Dalton today! He is so excited about it!

New Year New You/Happy Birthday Darrel!

Allot has gone on since July of 2009. A year & a half to be real! Dalton is now a big boy at the age of 4. We now live in Steamboat Springs, CO. Which I think is the most beautiful place on the planet. This is truly God's country! He made this place wonderful! Dalton loves his new school & friends. He does miss his Texas friends very much though! He does not say it as often as he did before "I want to move back to Texas with my friends" or "When are my friends moving to Colorado". I wish his friends would move here! We would love it. Well I have committed as a new year's resolution to write in this blog daily. It is among allot of other new year's resolutions I have made to myself personally. I am not going to share them because I have committed to myself to make changes. When they happen I will list them. I will be starting a new job on the mountain (as they call it up here). I will be working at 3 different retail locations. I am really excited because it gives our family ski passes. Which are worth about $1200.00 each! So I am working there for the ski passes not the salary! Today is my Husband's 53rd birthday. It is hard to believe he is 53. I am sure it is for him too! Dalton was excited to get him a cake & decorate it with the decorations off his birthday cake from his 4th birthday party. Very cute!!
