Big boy!

As in past posts (not too many lately) I have said how much Dalton is talking. Wow it is amazing. The other day we were in the car & he kids playing soccer & said "soccer". Wow I did not know he knew what Soccer was. He is sooooo smart! He has such a sweet spirit my baby boy. He sure loves his momma! The other night we were putting him to bed. Normally I say my good nights then leave while Daddy finishes putting him down & sitting on the couch (and falling asleep) for a few minutes before he falls asleep. But that night he says momma sit so I sat (I mind well!) then Daddy put him down & said Daddy will sit with mommy & Dalton said "No Daddy Go". OH my I felt so bad for Darrel. He kept saying NO Daddy GO. So Darrel said goodnight & left. I do know how he feels because most nights he just wants Daddy to put him to bed because that has been the routine for so long. Dalton is such a routine boy. I am really excited about getting him a big boy bed. We are getting close. I am ready to have him potty trained! I am SICK of CHANGING DIAPERS!!! YUCK! I know why people potty train by 2. Sorry for TMI! They have adult poop by then! YUCK!!!!!! I am not sure what it is going to be like not to put him up on the changing table! I should be thinner from all this but NOT! I need to post some updated photos. He is becoming such a little man now. Daddy & Dalton went to get a haircut today. He is such a good customer while getting his haircut. He just sits there very still & waits until she is done. We go to the same lady who is wonderful! So I guess he is knows her but he has always been a good boy getting his haircut. Again he is pretty much perfect. You know I claimed he would be a great kid & that is what he is turning out to be. I think God wants us to ask for what we want out loud! I know he knows what is in our heart but he loves it when you ask him then PRAISE him for it! Well enough with the soap box! Have a great weekend!

Birthday party today!

We went to Dalton's friend Connor's birthday party today. He is 2! Dalton had a great time as usual. He is such a good boy. I am sure I have mentioned that before. He is kind of congested right now. He can't sleep good. He is in our bed with Daddy. I am in the office working. They are both snoring! YUCK! I hope he feels better soon. No school on Monday BUMMER! But I guess that is good since he is a little under the weather. I swear this school thing has keep him sick allot! I am sick of sick!!! I really need to get his 2 year pictures done! He has been sick so much I make the appt. then he gets sick. Maybe it is the getting the pictures done that is causing it! No but I really need to do them.

New Year New Words!

Dalton has taken off with his words. He is just talking up a storm. Just like his mama! At school on Wednesday one of his teachers said "Wow we sure noticed that Dalton started talking more, his words are so clear"! I am so excited about it. Communication is much easier when I can figure out what he wants or needs. Well we had a big fall today. Bad Mommy let his stand in my office chair & I turned my back for 2 seconds & he fell over. He hit is head on the hardwood floor in my office. He has a big goose egg on his head & he hit his nose & it was bleeding too. I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!!! I called the Dr because if you know me you know that I am a freak about sickness & hurts! They said if he did not pass out he did not have a concussion. I was glad to hear that. I have learned my lesson as well as Dalton. He has not gone near that chair all day! Not such a great way to start the new year! He loves saying cheese!! See Damage below.........

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

So it is time to say goodbye to another year tonight. Wow! 2009 is upon us in full force. I am looking for it to be a great year in spite of our "change" in Washington. I am going to stay positive about that! I have not said anything on this blog about politics because it is about Dalton. But then again it is my blog & my thoughts so I can say whatever I want to. I guess I don't have a choice but to be positive, because it is going to happen regardless of my vote. Let's see if America really likes the "change" that is coming! OK enough of that depressing talk. I see Dalton changing in so many ways. He is becoming such a young boy. He is saying lots of new words everyday. He will repeat most any word if you ask him too. (be careful what you ask for) He said puzzles yea yesterday it was so cute. He is starting to say more then one word at a time now. I think I see sentences in our near future. My poor DH, his company is going thru changes. They were suppose to have a joint venture with another company on January 1st & it fell thru. It was going to mean lots more money for us. So that is a bit of a bummer. But as my mother always says "God has something really good in store for us!" I know that my God is good & he will make this up to us 100 fold. My DH's dad is in ICU today until Friday because he has had some heart attacks since Christmas. He is having a stint (not sure of the spelling) put in on Friday. I feel bad for him that he has to spend New Year's in the hospital but we are grateful that he is on the road to recovery. He is a sweet man & we want to have allot more years with him. So in closing for 2008 I am grateful for my wonderful family, that my DH has a job & we have a wonderful home & good friends! I wish everyone was as lucky as me. I am also grateful that I can be a stay at home mom to a wonderful son that I waited over 13 years to have.

Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to all my friends & family. I sit here listening to my son & stepdaughters playing in the living room. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. We had Christmas this morning at Nana & Papa's house. Great Grandfather was there too. We had a great time. Dalton helped everyone open their gifts. He was so cute. He even passed out the gifts to the people they needed to go to. What a wonderful helper elf I have. He loved all the things he got. He especially loved the helicopter that him & dad got. They are going to have lots of fun with that. I love this time of year because I know how blessed I am to have such a wonderful son. I could not have picked a better kid. He was really sick last week & was wonderful thru it all. He had pneumonia, ear infection in both ears & his 2 year molars coming in. What a trooper!! Well I will post some pictures later.

Wrapping & shopping & Sickness!

WOW we went & did some quick shopping this morning. I wish I was done!!! I now have to do some wrapping. I am a procrastinator BIG TIME! I wait till the last minute all the time. I guess it is in my personality (as they say)! I should be done with my shopping. I have such a hard time finding things for people that they will want. I don't want to buy something that someone will just throw in their closet & never use. Money is too tight these days for that. On another note poor Dalton ended up having double ear infections, pneumonia & I found this morning he is cutting his 2 year molars. Poor little guy he has been hit hard. He loves his school which is only 2 days a week. But ever since he has started he has gotten sick. He was a healthy boy before school. People tell me that he is getting immune now. I hope so because he is sure being a trooper thru all of the snot & coughing. He is on the mend & doing much better today. We have a party on Monday with his friends so I hope he gets better this weekend.

Looking for the perfect Big Boy Bed!

We are on the hunt for the perfect big boy bed for Dalton. We went to St*r today & they had some great beds. We are going to get him a twin bed & just skip the toddler bed thing all together. The toddler bed we want is over $200. Well we can get a twin bed for about $500. So why waste the money on the toddler bed when he will grow out of it quickly. He is so tall that it would not last long. So we are thinking Feb or March for moving him. After the holidays. Here is the one we like the most! The Cottage Collection We are thinking just the headboard because I don't want to waste space with a foot board in his room. We have a dresser the same color so it would go great. Anyway we are excited about making his room a big boy room. He loves trains so I am thinking about making it a vehicles theme room. He is growing up!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Wow I can't believe that it is Thanksgiving already. My boy is 2 & I am 39. The time flies when you are having fun. Dalton is so much better now! Now if we could get the sleeping under control he would be PERFECT. He made the cutest hat at school on Monday. It is a turkey hat. He even loves to wear it. He has learned to say GOBBLE GOBBLE. Well it really sounds like BOBBLE BOBBLE but we know what it is. On this day I am grateful for my family. I am so blessed to have the people in my life that God put in it. I thank God for my son. It is only because of him that I have him. He is a super huge blessing in my life. My husband is a great blessing too, he is a hard worker. I am blessed that I don't have to have a 9 to 5 job so I can be a stay at home mom. I waited so long to have him & am really happy to be able to spend everyday with him. I am also blessed to have my wonderful parents. They have taught me to be self sufficient person. I see so many people my age that can't make it without their parents. I hope to pass down this to Dalton. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving this 2008!

LONG time since last post!

Wow I did not realize that it had been that long since I last posted. Dalton was sick for almost 3 weeks. Welcome to school my son! I am busy right now with my lobby shows for the Christmas Season. I have 2 more weeks & then I will be off to the shopping races for Christmas gifts. Dalton had ear infections then he had sinus & throat challenges. We made our 1st trip to the emergency room with him during that time of sick! We only waited 10 mins. so that was good. Our total time in the ER was 1-1/2 hours YEA!!! Dalton loves school. He has missed some days because of being sick. He goes 2 days a week. He has not cried yet going in! He is such a big boy. We are having issues with sleeping again since he has been sick. He seems to think we all want to be up in the middle of the night for some good old play time! NOT ME!!! I have not slept good in over 3 weeks. I am TIRED! I am going to have to start the crying game again. I hate to listen to him cry but he as to learn that he needs to stay in his bed all night. I am also on the hunt for a big boy bed! I have been looking on craigslist. All that know me know I am CHEAP! I did find this cute bed that has a play area underneath it. It even has a slide! WOW! A kids dream. I am waiting for the lady to write me back about it. I don't know if she still has it. I hope so. I want to move him at the first of the year. I can't focus on one more thing right now. So if I get a bed it will stay in the garage until January! Well Dalton is in bed so that is where I am heading just in case he decides tonight is a good night to get up again! Let's hope NOT!!! Please pray that he finds his grove again with sleeping. He was doing so great for so many months.

First day of School!

This is Dalton's first day of school. He did great!! We got ready for school took pictures & headed over to his school. Bailey our dog was sad to see him go! He will miss him while he is gone. We had to wait outside for the doors to open. His friend Megan was there to wait with us for our first day. He was excited to go in. We got to his classroom & I had to sign him in. By the time I am done signing him in he as gone with the teacher right in. They have toys to play with on the floor when they first get there to make them feel comfortable. As you can see in the picture he was very comfortable. I just called school & they said he was doing great. They tell me that the second day might not be as good because they know what is going to happen. I hope not I hope it keeps going as good as today has been so far.

2 Year Dr. Visit

Well yesterday I took Dalton to the Dr. for his 2 year checkup! We were at the Dr.'s office for 2 hours, can we all say YUCK! With a 2 year old that is very social that can be hard. He wants to say hi & bye to everyone 200 hundred times. Anyway she said he was doing great. She did ask me if he was saying 50 words I just LAUGHED! I can get about 20 out of him. He is just like his Daddy a man of few words. I updated his growth chart so you can see how he is growing. The Dr. did tell me that he will be about 6'3. WOW he is going to be tall. I am excited for him. I just love a tall man! I will be posting some pictures from the pumpkin patch & his birthday very soon.

Swimming is going great!

Swimming is such fun for Dalton. But I am kind of sad because we will have to drop it for now because he is going to school. I am really excited for him to start. He starts November 3rd. AHHHHHHHHHHH mommy is a little nervous though. He has a mommy attachment right now. Even when I leave him with Dad he cries. I am sure the first few days will be rough but then it will get better. He is going to have a great time playing with his new & old friends. He is starting to get a little strong willed as they call it! I am dreading the 2's & 3's. I hope because is has been so good they will be mild times. He is learning so fast. He now says "papa" that is his way of saying grandpa. My dad is thrilled! I am so excited to hear him saying it too. He has been saying nana for awhile now.

Closer & Closer.....

we get to Dalton's birthday I get a little sad. He is growing up sooooooo fast I just can barely stand it. He is such a sweet boy. I am sure all you out there are sick of hearing that & probably saying she is just saying that because he is hers. No he really is sweet ya'll!! Ask anyone that knows Dalton. They will tell you. I am so proud of him, everyday he is learning & growing. He will start school, mother's day out whatever you call it these days. I think he will do great. He loves to be around other kids. I am getting into my busy season when I do all the craft & lobby shows selling my wears! I guess the economy is not so bad here in Texas because we have been doing great this year. So I am excited about it being a great season to finish a great year!

Guess Who is Starting School Soon!!

You guessed right Dalton! Boy am I a bundle of nerves! I think he is going to do great. He is such a sweet little man. We went today & visited the class he will be in. Right now there is 1 little girl in the class that is already friends with Dalton. Dalton has known Megan for over a year now. She is in his playgroup & was in his little gym class. Cade is also starting there but he is starting next week. Dalton still has swimming that we have paid for thru the end of October. I am bummed about swimming. The only days his teacher teaches is on the days he will go to school which is Monday & Wednesday. He will go from 9am to 2pm. WOW 5 hours for mommy time. He will get to play with other kids which he loves to do. I am so excited that he is getting in school here because it is our church & I wanted him in there next year. It is really hard to get your kid in after 2 so since he will be in this year I won't have to be on a waiting list. Please wish Mommy luck because she is going to need it!!! I am going to be worse then Dalton I am sure.

Happy 23rd Month Birthday Baby Boy!!

Well you are now 23 months old only 1 month away from 2 wonderful years old. I sat today & looked at you thinking how truly blessed I am to have you in my life. I love being your mother. I know that at times I am obsessed about keeping you safe. My favorite line is "CAREFUL"! After I say that you stop & look at me like "WHAT I was not going to get hurt"! I love your kisses & hugs that you give me sometimes when I ask but other times when I don't. Which I think are the best!! Daddy & I are so proud of you. You are such a good boy & everyone can see that. You never hit bite or take things from other kids. When other kids take something you have you take it in stride & just let them have it & move on to something else. You are so sweet to your the dog Bailey. He lets you sit on him anytime you want. Well next month you will hit yet another year older the big #2! Thanks for being such a great baby boy!!! LOVE YOU LOTS, Momma!

BYE BYE Hurricane IKE!

This is some of the horrible destruction he left behind! WOW was that bad! We did not have it as bad as other people but we had NO electricity for 24 hours. IT WAS HOT did I mention it was HOT! Thank God the electricty came back on because I thought we might melt along with all our food. You know the biggest thing we were short on & was hard to find was toilet paper. I am never going low on that stuff. I would have traded water for it! Dalton did great considering it was hot & there was no TV! Thank goodness we have a pool. All of us along with some of our great neighbors swam on Saturday to help us keep cool. I think if we did not have that we would have been nuts & bored! We just prayed for all the people that lost their homes! It is such a devastating thing to go thru. It is scary but makes you appreciate all that you have much more. I give all the praise & glory to God for protecting my family & friends!

Growing up & Growing Words!

Wow Dalton is growing up so fast. I can't believe he will be 2 at the end of next month. He is really starting to say words. The last few days he has said: Dayna, Barbara, Grandpa (gra-pa) & Outside! Or as he says it Out side! We are trying to teach him that it is one word. Grandpa & Nana came over Friday & we swam in our pool. He sure loves that! He loves them very much too. He always cries when they leave. His sister Laura came over & stayed with him on Saturday while I worked. They had so much fun swimming & blowing bubbles. He loves playing with his sisters. I hope they are always close. Since we are older parents it will be nice for him to have them for a long time after we are gone. They think he is wonderful too!! They never get tired of giving him a bath or feeding or just playing with him.
